Clinics

The District Nurses have a Treatment Room and Phlebotomy clinic at Orford Jubilee Park. To contact them for advice 251485 or on 251463 for an appointment, please note for phlebotomy service no appointment is required.

Child Health Surveillance Checks (for children at 6 weeks) are held here by Dr Petch and Dr Steevart. Checks at 7 to 9months, 21months and 3yrs are held by the Health Visitors. There are also ‘drop-in clinics’ where babies can be weighed and general advice given, please contact the Health Visitors on 01925 867908 for details and venues.

Joint Injections

The practice is actively engaged in health promotion.

In particular we can arrange; primary prevention, for example advice on smoking, diet and exercise and immunisations both adult and childhood; screening, for example blood pressure checks, cholesterol estimations, cervical smears etc.

If you would like to discuss any of these please see one of our nurses.

Our Healthcare Assistants support the Nurses and the Practice by providing a phlebotomy service (talking blood samples) for testing. They are also responsible for running our health check clinic that enables us to identify and then initiate preventative measures to help reduce the risk to those patients who may otherwise develop illnesses in the future.

Medical Examinations (Non-NHS)

Certain services provided by the Doctors are not covered by the NHS and fees are payable for such items as:

  • Large Good Vehicle (LGV) and Passenger Service Vehicle (PSV) licences
  • Elderly driver licences
  • Insurance
  • Preemployment medicals
  • Private certificates
  • Holiday vaccinations
  • Insurance claims
  • Fitness for sports

Please ask the receptionist for such services. Charges are payable at the time of attendance, and the British Medical Association (BMA) recommended scale of fees is on display at the reception desk.

Medical Certificates

Self-certificates are available from your employer for sickness of up to one week. Any certificate required from the Doctor for periods up to the first week can only be provided as a private certificate for which there is a charge.

Mental Health Practitioners (over 18 only)

Our Mental Health Practitioners June & Paul are available to support you with the following:

  • Bi-Polar
  • Anxiety
  • Low Mood
  • Depression
  • OCD
  • Suicidal Ideation without planning or intent
  • Personality Disorders
  • Query Psychosis

EXCEPTION - If you are in crisis or already under secondary care/another organisaton for mental health, this service is not appropriate. 

 

Health & Wellbeing Coaches (Over 18 Only)

Our Health & Well Being Coaches, Lee & Amy can assist you with the following:

  • Diet and Weight Management
  • Diagnosed or at risk of developing conditions such as Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension, High Cholesterol, Fatty Liver Disease, Sleep Apnoea, anxiety due to weight. 
  • Exercise advice/plans
  • Stopping Smoking
  • Reducing Alcohol Consumption 
  • Reduce Stress/Improve mood
  • Information of services available and Gym Membership support

 

Social Prescriber (Over 18 Only)

Our social prescriber Louise can help with any underlying social issues that may be affecting your mental or physical health. She can provide a listening ear and help link you up to other services that can support with:

  • Social Isolation/Loneliness
  • Bereavement
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Housing Issues
  • Debt / Money Advice
  • Employment/Training
  • LGBTQ+
  • Caring Responsibilities
  • Drugs/Alcohol

Paramedics (age 1 and above) 

Our paramedics can attend those who are housebound or that require home visits on behalf of the GPs. 

Chris also holds minor ailments clinics at the surgery and can help patients with the following: 

  • Sinus/Throat/Ear/Nasal Infections
  • Chest Infections
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Skin Infections
  • Insect Bites and Stings
  • Rashes
  • Acute Eczema/Psoriasis
  • Warts/Verucas
  • Minor Injuries i.e. Sprains, tendonitis, back pain 
  • Foreign bodies stuck in ears and nose
  • Urinary tract Infections
  • Acure Diarrheoea and Vomiting
  • Chronic Disease Reviews i..e COPD, Asthma, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes

 

Physiotherapists (over 18 Only) 

We have a number of First Contact Practitioners that we have access to at the Eric Moore Medicentre that we can book patients in for physiotherapy appointments. Please contact reception to enquire regarding suitability.
